How we pick

What earns an entry, how flags work, and what the notes are for.

Best for Kids is a parent navigation site. We list websites, games, apps, and videos a child might use at home. We do not sell accounts on this site, and we do not host comments.

What gets an entry

An entry needs a working official URL, a clear age fit, one primary door (Play, Learn, Apps, or Watch), a one-line reason, and a parent note. Draft rows stay off the sitemap until both the reason and the note are filled.

Ads, account, user content

Every card shows ads (none, some, heavy), account (none, optional, required), and user content (none, limited, open). When a caveat is easy to miss, we set warn-on-card so the parent note appears before Open.

Best lists

Topic pages show eight editorial ranks only. Extra matches stay on age pages. Sponsored placements, when used, sit in a labeled block under those eight and never inside the ranked set.

Not official ratings

Notes are parent guidance for handing over a device. They are not safety certifications, school endorsements, or Common Sense Media reviews.
